ANIMALS IN THE CITY
This summer I and my husband have spent some days in Emilia Romagna and we have visited the International Center Loris Malaguzzi, a place for adults and children full of imagination and experimentation, according to Reggio Children Approach.
Questa estate io e mio marito abbiamo trascorso qualche giorno in Emilia Romagna e abbiamo visitato il Centro Internazionale Loris Malaguzzi, un posto per adulti e bambini, ricco di immaginazione e sperimentazione, secondo il Metodo Reggio Children.
The Reggio Emilia Approach is an educational philosophy based on the image of the child, and of human beings, as possessing strong potentials for development and as a subject of rights who learns and grows in the relationships with others.
This global educational project, which is carried forth in the Municipal Infant-toddler Centers and Preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy, and has inspired other schools all over the world, is based on a number of distinctive characteristics: the participation of families, the collegial work of all the personnel, the importance of the educational environment, the presence of the atelier and the figure of theatelierista, the in-school kitchen, and the pedagogical coordinating team.
Focusing on the centrality of the hundred languages belonging to every human being, in the atelier spaces young children are offered daily opportunities to encounter many types of materials, many expressive languages, many points of view, working actively with hands, minds, and emotions, in a context that values the expressiveness and creativity of each child in the group.
Il Reggio Emilia Approach è una filosofia educativa che si fonda sull’immagine di un bambino e, in generale, di un essere umano portatori di forti potenzialità di sviluppo e soggetti di diritti, che apprendono, crescono nella relazione con gli altri.
Questo progetto educativo globale, che viene portato avanti nelle Scuole e nei Nidi d’infanzia del Comune di Reggio Emilia e al quale si ispirano scuole di tutto il mondo, si fonda su alcuni tratti distintivi: la partecipazione delle famiglie, il lavoro collegiale di tutto il personale, l’importanza dell’ambiente educativo, la presenza dell’atelier e della figura dell’atelierista, della cucina interna, il coordinamento pedagogico e didattico.
Seguendo la centralità dei “cento linguaggi” di cui l’essere umano è dotato, tramite gli spazi atelier viene offerta quotidianamente ai bambini la possibilità di avere incontri con più materiali, più linguaggi, più punti di vista, di avere contemporaneamente attive le mani, il pensiero e le emozioni, valorizzando l’espressività e la creatività di ciascun bambino e dei bambini in gruppo.

Passeggiando nel Park Gorkovo, uno dei parchi più belli di Mosca, ho visto questo pesce arenato sull'erba, pronto per giocare con chiunque lo volesse.

The green lizard with red big eyes
In Moscow, near the school where my husband works, we saw this strange animal.
We called it "The green lizard with red big eyes".
A Mosca, vicino alla scuola dove lavora mio marito, abbiamo visto questo strano animale.
Lo abbiamo chiamato "La lucertola verde con grandi occhi rossi".
C'era una volta una lucertola con il raffreddore. Nessuno aveva mai spiegato alle lucertole l'importanza dello starnuto. La lucertola si accorse che trattenendo gli starnuti vengono gli occhi rossi. Soltanto poi capì che gli sarebbero rimasti enormi. Povera lucertola con gli occhi rossi grandi.

YELLOW CATS IN SARAJEVO
Walking through Sarajevo you can meet yellow talking cats painted on the gray walls of the city. They can read a book indicating a library, or they can fly with their great white wings, or they can just smile.
Passeggiando per la città di Sarajevo s'incontrano gatti gialli parlanti dipinti sui muri grigi della città, che indicano una libreria leggendo un libro, o volano con le loro grandi ali bianche, o semplicemente sorridono a 32 denti.
